Cinema planning for Saudi Arabia

Pick a film together, not in a group chat.

The problem

Deciding is harder than watching.

Choosing a film with four friends means three apps, one group chat and a lot of unanswered messages. Most plans die before anyone books.

01

Nobody knows what anyone wants

Interest lives in people’s heads. You find out someone already saw it after you’ve bought the tickets.

02

Showtimes are scattered

Every chain has its own app and its own branches. Comparing them across a city is manual work.

03

Coordination collapses

Six people, six schedules, six parts of town. The group chat picks nothing and the evening passes.

How it works

From an idea to booked seats in four steps.

Everyone contributes what they know: what they want to see, when they are free and where they can get to. The app does the reconciling.

Share what you want to watch
1

Share what you want to watch

Mark films as interested, wishlisted or already seen. Your friends see the signal, never your location.

2

Start a plan

Pick a circle or individual friends, add up to four candidate films, and set the days that work for you.

Everyone votes
3

Everyone votes

Friends vote on the film, the cinema and the time. Availability overlap builds as each person fills in their blocks.

Book with confidence
4

Book with confidence

The group sees one recommended showtime with the reasons behind it, then continues to the cinema to pay.

What you get

Every part of the evening, in one place.

Discovery, coordination and booking handoff, built for how people actually go to the cinema here.

Discovery with social signal

Browse today, tomorrow or the full week. Every poster carries context: how many friends are interested, who already watched it, and why it is being recommended to you.

  • Day, week, popular, top 10 and friends-watched views
  • Recommendations explain themselves
  • Interest, wishlist, watched and not-interested states

Group plans that finish

A plan holds the people, the candidate films, the availability grid and the shortlist of cinemas. Progress is visible, so it is obvious who still needs to vote.

  • Friend circles for groups you plan with often
  • Live vote counts on films, cinemas and times
  • Availability shown as group overlap, never individual calendars

Cinemas across every chain

One list of branches near you with distance, formats and today’s showtimes. Compare Nujoom against Aurora against Cinepoint without switching apps.

  • IMAX, VIP, Dolby, ScreenX and standard formats
  • Verified showtimes per branch and per day
  • Distance measured from your area, not a pin on a map

Booking handoff that keeps your choice

CineMENA does not resell tickets. When the group decides, you continue to the cinema’s own checkout with the film, branch, date and showtime already carried across.

  • Ticket count and estimated total before you leave
  • Everyone can book their own seat from the shared plan
  • No duplicate account, no markup
Booking handoff that keeps your choice

Ratings without the noise

Rate a film out of five and pick from structured reactions. Scores appear as group and community averages, so there are no public reviews to argue with.

  • Structured reactions instead of free text
  • Separate rating for the cinema experience
  • Friend averages shown alongside the public score

Communities and activity

Follow interest communities for your city, vote in their polls and see group screenings. Everything that needs your attention lands in one activity feed.

  • City and interest communities
  • Polls and group screening invites
  • One feed for invites, votes and wishlist openings

Group Match

One recommendation the whole group can accept.

Group Match reads every signal the plan already contains and returns a single showtime with its reasoning shown. It is a starting point for the group, not a verdict — you can always keep voting.

Everyone’s taste

Genres, languages and formats each member prefers.

High

Availability overlap

The blocks where the most people are actually free.

High

Group convenience

Which branch is reasonable for the whole group, not the closest to one person.

Medium

What friends already saw

Films some of the group has watched are ranked down.

Medium

Format preference

IMAX, VIP or standard, weighted by what members chose.

Low
One recommendation the whole group can accept.

Bilingual by design

Arabic and English, both first class.

The interface mirrors completely in Arabic: layout direction, icon direction, numerals, dates and typography. Switching language is one tap from any screen, not a setting buried in a menu.

  • Full RTL layout, not a flipped stylesheet
  • Arabic-Indic numerals and Hijri-aware date formatting
  • Film titles carried in both languages throughout
  • Language switch available on the sign-in screen, before you read anything else

Privacy

Social, without surveillance.

Planning needs some information about people. It does not need their exact location or their full history. The defaults are the conservative ones.

Approximate location only

Friends in a plan see a general area. Your exact location is never shared with anyone, ever.

You choose what is visible

Interests, wishlist and watch history each have their own audience setting. Watched history defaults to private.

No public reviews

Ratings are aggregated. There is no comment field for strangers to argue in.

Data that expires

Availability you enter for a plan is used for that plan and is not kept as a profile of your schedule.

For cinema operators

Reach groups, not individuals.

CineMENA sends complete groups to your checkout with the film and showtime already chosen. We surface your branches, formats and screening times to people actively deciding where to go tonight.
